Tour of Bihor-Bellotto

The Tour of Bihor-Bellotto is another new race on the calendar, on the 2.2 level. A few days back, it was won by Egan Bernal of Androni. The race starts with a very short prologue of just under 2 km, before being followed by the only GC relevant stage, with a finish at Cabana Padis. This climb is quite long, and it's the only chance for climbers to do something in this race, as stages 3 and 4 seem to be made for sprinters.

And yes, I'm aware some of the KoMs may be categorized weirdly. I only followed the official site on this, so I'm not to blame for this :P

I've built up all stages but the prologue with auto-cities, because it'd save some work, and Romania is very hard to realistically recreate with IBs.

Thanks both :)

Stage 4 indeed missed the intermediates. Apparently something went wrong saving or so.

Clamel has been so kind to fix this already for me. In this file you'll find the corrected version, as well as the xml file for correct classifications. All credits to clamel for that.

As you can see this race is very lumpy, constantly up and down. PCM has classified stages 2 and 4 as hilly, 1 and 2 as flat. Stage 1 is the longest @178km, stage 2 is the shortest at 83km. Lots of narrow backroads have caused these profiles to be so weird. In fact, due to all this and a relatively vague route description it was sometimes a bit of a hell to draw the route.
The placement of Int Sprint and KoM may not make sense sometimes, you may think. I fully agree with you on that :P

For cities (well, villages), I've decided to stick with IBs only. If something went wrong please let me know.

The village of screen #2 is beautiful. Lots of people here are likely to appreciate your race as many of them come from Bretagne

Yes, typically Breton :D
But as I am not Breton, I didn't even know this race. Shame on me.    :niais: :niais: :niais:

And not only is it looking great (what I think of small villages in France) the race have not been done before. Only in those cdx-files, so that's worth an extra :up

Brilliant decision on making these small village on "hilly" areas as IBs. With auto-villages it gets very bad (feeling sucks) when it's stages on this kind of terrain.

Thanks for the great effort mate.

Ma première course pour PCM16 c'est le Tour of Utah, avec la route de cette année. J'ai copié les descriptions des étapes de PCMDaily

Image

Image
Starting in the Zion National Park, stage 1 should not be the most interesting one. The hills along the route should not bring any troubles for most sprinters, so a mass sprint seems likely.

Image
For stage 2, we can say almost the exact same thing. Another hilly-ish stage, but again the hills should not do too much damage to most sprinters. However, as we saw a few days ago, the peloton might fail here.

Image
Stage 3 is the first of the real GC stages. Mount Nebo is a very tough climb. However, the summit is far out from the finish and the downhill might bring stuff together. Or not, of course.

Image
The organisation sold the start of this stage to IM Flash Technologies, and then proceeded by creating a very uninspiring route, which is slightly lumpy, but never really hilly.

Image
Stage 5 could turn out two ways:
1: Boring stage, where nobody attacks on the Bountiful Bench. Mass sprint or breakaway win
2: Favourites try to surprise each other, resulting in an interesting climb and descent.

Image
Stage 6 is without any doubt the Queen Stage. The Guardsmann Pass reaches almost 3000 meters of altitude, and is followed by the climb to Snowbird, which has been categorized HC for a reason. The GC might be decided here already.

Image
However, don't speak too soon about the race being decided. The short final stage holds the Empire Pass (which, partly is the Guardsmann Pass clumb from the other side), a long downhill, and then a hilly finish up Main Street in Park City. Pay attention in this stage, as you might be surprised.

(includes zcts)

Decided not to make screens, because I made this race rather quickly and the quality is not incredible.

And finally, credits to clamel for helping me out with the KoM categories
